Festival ZAKHID-2010 (WEST-2010)

21-23 August, Stare Selo, 25 km from Lviv

During August 21-23 festival ZAKHID-2010 will take place in the castle of Stare Selo — 16-century fortification, the largest castle of Lviv region.

The slogan of this festival is “Our own culture. Because it is cool” (“Svoja kultura. Tomu shcho tse kruto”.) The crucial target of the festival is to support Ukrainian music, literature and art. Also the festival is aimed to promote active youth recreation and to develop tourism in the region. Active youth recreation includes competitions in football, volleyball, Frisbee and also varied entertainment contests, air-balloons and climbing.

There will be two stages in the festival. Also there will be conducted master classes on various crafts, folk dancing, fighting, fire shows and Cossack entertainment.

You can easily get to Stare Selo from Lviv Suburban railway station using trains “Lviv - Khodoriv” and “Lviv - Zhydachiv” (the estimated cost of the travel is 5 UAH).
