Museum Pharmacy «Pid Chornym Orlom» (Beneath the Black Eagle)

A museum related to pharmaceutical history was opened on the premises of the old pharmacy in 1966. The idea of creating such a museum had already come up in the XIX century. The Galician Association of Pharmacists was created in 1868; members managed to assemble a small collection of exhibits, thus making the first step towards creating a new museum. Nowadays, the exhibition has expanded considerably, with 16 exhibit rooms and a general exhibition surface totalling 700 sq. m. There are more than 3,000 exhibits in the museum.

This is the only operating Museum Pharmacy in Ukraine and Europe. Just beside the unique pharmacy, you can visit the museum itself, which presents rare and curious exhibits, assembled by scientists, pharmacists, and enthusiastic collectors.

Today, the pharmacy operates daily; here, you can still buy all your required medicine, as well as the renowned «Zalizne Vyno» (Iron Wine).

Admission: 3 UAH for a general ticket; 1 UAH for children; 2 UAH for students.

Сьогодні проходив вулицею у святвечір, і зрозумів що, видатна аптека-музей на вул. Коперніка 1, де вперше в світі винайшли гасову лямпу перестала існувати. Донедавна вона була зачинена, сьогодні я через вікно бачив, як руйнували віковічний, красивий дерев'яний інтер'єр, який простояв там більше століття. Бачу що, влада і наш Пан шановний мер, уміє доглядати за своєю історією, як за "рідними батьками". З завтрашнього дня, я готую письмове звернення, в усі можливі організації по захисту пам'яток Львова, також у адміністрації світових організацій і інші установи. Думаю, німці які приїзджають на запрошення влади реставрувати дерев'яні брами і сходи, пам'яток України, будуть шоковані завтра почути усе це, а тим більше побачити. А також пан Косів заступник мера який так, часто п'є пиво в кнайпах з ними, і розповідає пану Хрісто,- що Львів це історична пам'ятка, яку завжди будуть берегти))) - ціною історичних аптек,( а завтра аптека-музей піде під кувалду напевно))))Так панове можновладці! Дякую що, може хтось до цього дослухається! Відсилаю вам на згадку про цю пам'ятку історі, якої вже не існує!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
