Model Lviv for Google Earth!

The campaign “Model Lviv for Google Earth” has started! It has been initiated by tourism portal VisitLviv.net supported by the Lviv City Council. The aim of the Campaign is to develop a 3D model of the historic part of the city and make it available at the worldwide known resource.

“At present Google remains a number one resource in the world, and its Google Earth software is used by over 350 million users. All the famous destinations in the world, especially tourism destinations take great care of their presence on Google Earth” – claims Yarema Dukh, the project coordinator. “We have analyzed the way Lviv is represented in this program and concluded that we have a lot to do. Only few buildings in the historic part of the city are available in 3D. Moreover, quite often their quality leaves room for improvement. We want to change this”.
