The Snow Festival "Svyatosnih" is still on-going in Lviv. Snow and ice sculptures have appeared in several places of the city.

"Muzey Idey" (Museum of Ideas), assisted by skilled sculptors and artists from Ukraine and Poland, presented 5 winter installations in different parts of the historic Old City. And, fortunately, the weather is really cold and wintry, so we'll all be able to enjoy these works of art a little longer. Come and see them!

It was the airport in Lviv, of all things, that first charmed me. Regional airports across the former Soviet Union tend to be a dreary lot, with all the appeal of a 24-hour bus station. But the one in Lviv, the largest city in western Ukraine, had wood paneling and ornate columns and the feel of a grand old railway station in a 1950s film.
