On March, 6-8 The 3rd Chocolate Holiday were held in Lviv. Over 3 tons of chocolate were eaten in Lviv Art Palace and on square in front of Lviv Opera House. In year it will be eaten even more – organizators are promising.

For three days chocolate lovers from Lviv, other cities of Ukraine and abroad, tasted chocolate bars, drinks, donuts, fountains, and even sculptures. During the Chocolate Holiday several chocolate sculptures were made and sold at a charity auction at the Chocolate ball. Also at the auction almost 2 meters height chocolate lion made by famous confectioner Valentyn Shtefano were sold for 3 500 UAH. All proceeds are donated to charity, and the lion’s new owner promised to put it for public view.

Well-known Ukrainian maestro Hryhoriy Chapkis accompanied Chocolate ball, dance workshops were given by famous dancer Vlad Yama. This event brought together fans of classical balls and passed in pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

On Sunday, March, 7th, an auction of chocolate portraits of Lviv politicians and public figures were held. These portraits of Lviv artist Olha Rusanovs’ka were painted with white chocolate on black chocolate basis. The most expensive, with 4 600 USD., Sold the portrait of the

Lviv city council deputy Vardkes Arzumanyan’s portrait was the most expensive lot – it was sold for 4 600 UAH.

“Of course, prepearing process of this Holiday wasn’t straight and easy, but we are satisfied with the results we’ve got. Art Palace was too tight for us, so the next festival will be held in a larger place. The important thing is that Lviv, who has formed as chocolate capital years ago, reaffirmed that status", – the mayor advisor on the development of tourism infrastructure Andriy Sydir said.
