Art events for the weekend of October 19-20
Autumn is the best time for an artistic atmosphere. Visit galleries, theaters, concert halls and enjoy the unique atmosphere of a city that is always open to creativity. For your attention, we have collected the best art events for the weekend of October 19-20.
Opening of the exhibition “Structures of Reciprocity”
- When: October 19, 5:00 p.m
- Where: Jam Factory Art Center (Bohdan Khmelnytskyi St., 124)
- Cost: free entry (from October 20, the price is UAH 250)
About the event:
The exhibition “Structures of Reciprocity” is based on the idea of architectural structures, where the main elements support each other without any additional supports. Such a model has become for us a metaphor for the social structure of reciprocity, which was particularly painfully and intuitively rediscovered by Ukrainian society in 2014 and 2022.
Big guitar concert
- When: October 20, 4:00 p.m
- Where: Lviv Photo Museum (17 Kopernyka St.)
- Cost: admission is free
About the event:
On Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 16:00 at the Lviv Photo Museum (Lviv Palace of Arts, 17 Kopernyka St.), a “Big Guitar Concert” will be held to mark World Guitar Day. Before and after the event, Stary Lviv Coffee will treat you to hospitality.
Creative evening of Iryna Kaspruk
- When: October 20, 18:00
- Where: “Dzyga” Art Center (35 Virmenska St.)
- Cost: voluntary donation
About the event:
I am Iryna Kaspruk, for many of my poet friends I am simply Sunny. They say I know how to hug and heal the soul with a word. They say that everyone finds something special between the lines. They say creativity heals. In the time of constant tension, background stress and realities of the present day, I invite you to plunge into the world of warm, carefree poems and friendly communication. I promise you the lightness of the lyrics, the sensuality of maturity and a little nostalgia of youth. “Embraces of October rhymes” — about sincerity, about light, about love and life.
The purpose of the event is to support the collection for prosthetics of our defender Artem Peretyatka.
How did ancient Rome conquer more Ancient Greece? Volodymyr Kramsky’s lecture
- When: October 20, 2:00 p.m
- Where: Lviv Municipal Art Center (11 Stefanyka St.)
- Cost: pre-registration
About the event:
In the lecture, we will consider the question: how did Ancient Rome manage to conquer Greece and defeat the Hellenistic states, why didn’t the opposite happen? Why was the older and apparently more advanced Greek civilization unable to repel the expansion of Rome? How was the military organization of the ancient Greeks and Romans different? How were these features reflected in their tactics and military equipment?
