Charity Exhibition of Textile Art in Lviv
If you think textiles aren’t interesting, we recommend visiting the charity exhibition “Layering” taking place in Lviv. The official opening is scheduled for January 16th, 2024.
About the Charity Exhibition
The concept of the charity exhibition is quite interesting – it will feature works by masters of the Art Textile Department of the Lviv Academy of Arts: Vasyl Kolodiy, Iryna Rybenczuk, Olena Morokhovska and Elvira Sosojenko. According to the organizers, the artists’ works include contemporary textile practices, combined textile techniques, and thought flows that reflect emotional states and reactions to the realities of our time. This is why the exhibit is called “Layering”, as it fully reflects textile working methods.
What About Charity?
Now let’s get to the most important part – charity. A hallmark of the exhibition will be the ability to purchase the artists’ works. Accordingly, if you like a particular piece, you can certainly buy it, and the proceeds will go to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, specifically, to purchase Mavic and FPV drones for the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, where the husband of one of the exhibitors, Elvira Sosojenko, serves. So this is a great opportunity to do good and gain some karma 🙂
