The exhibition “Ark. Anthology of Meanings” in Lviv

The team of the the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum invites everyone interested to visit the exhibition “Ark. Anthology of Meanings.” The official opening will take place on November 21.

Briefly about the exhibition “Ark. Anthology of Meanings”

The concept of the exposition lies in representing the works of 13 young artists who explore Ukrainian existence through their creativity. One particular feature is that the artists come from different corners of Ukraine, so their works symbolize the unity of Ukraine. According to the organizers, the exhibition should not be taken literally. On the contrary, it should be seen as metaphorical.

“Ark. Anthology of Meanings” is not just an exhibition; it is a metaphor for the Ukrainian spirit. It symbolizes the cradle and boat, reflecting the depth and strength of our culture, history, and identity. The exhibition features works of painters, sculptors, and photographers, whose works transmit the diversity of generations, styles, and cultural codes inherent in different regions of Ukraine.

Program of the “Ark. Anthology of Meanings” exhibition:

  • November 24 – a meeting-conversation with Doctor of Philosophy Oleksandr Filonenko on “The Return of Beauty”;
  • November 25 – premiere of the documentary film “Oleg Minko. In the Expressions of the Spirit” about the life and creativity of the renowned Lviv artist (Lviv Palace of Arts);
