Lecture about Pavlo Tychyna from the MUR project in Lviv
The figure of the poet Pavlo Tychyna remains mysterious to this day. Some consider the collection “Solar Clarinets” to be a true work of poetic art, while others are convinced that he is a traitor. To understand this issue, you will be helped by a lecture about Pavlo Tychyna from the MUR project entitled “Even Before it used to Be”.
The lecture about Pavlo Tychyna: what will they talk about?
First of all, it is worth saying a few words about the MUR project. Its purpose is to spread information about the tragedy of repressed Ukrainian artists and to interest young people in national literature. For this, a team of young creators presented a music album called “You [Romantic]”. Its concept is truly unique: it is a rap musical consisting of 18 tracks connected by a common storyline. The basis of this musical production is the tragic story of the repression of Ukrainian writers of the last century.
The central character of the musical is the “boy-who-survived” – the famous poet Pavlo Tychyna. The voices of the project were such well-known artists as the writer Serhiy Zhadan, the musical groups Nazva and “Heitspeech”, the TV presenter Yevhen Yanovych and the actress Olena Kravets.
This musical work is intended to convey to the audience the truth about the tragic fate of Ukrainian writers who were repressed in the 20th century. The main figure in this story is the figure of Pavlo Tychyna himself, to whom a significant part of the album’s compositions is dedicated.
This is the theme of the lecture, which will be held in Lviv – to tell about the fate of Tychyna before he started writing about the Communist Party. In addition, the creators of the MUR project will raise a rather hot topic: was Pavlo Tychyna a traitor?
If you want to learn more about the fate of the artist, be sure to come to the lecture “even before.”
