Briefly about the evening of poetry readings with Halyna Kruk
Halyna Kruk is a famous Ukrainian poet, literary critic, and translator. She is the author of five poetry collections:
- “Adult” (2017),
- “Singing/Existence” (2013),
- “Face out of the picture” (2005),
- “Footprints in the Sand” (1997),
- “Travels in Search of Home” (1997)
In addition, the branch has an audiobook “Bukvar/BookWar” (2023), a collection of short stories “Anyone, Except Me” (2021), and four children’s books. Her works are presented in many anthologies and translated into more than 30 languages, including English — “A Crash Course in Molotov Cocktails” (2023) and “Lost in Living” (2024).
Halyna Kruk is the laureate of numerous literary awards both in Ukraine and abroad, including the Griffin Poetry Award, Sundara Ramaswamy Award, Women in Art Award 2023, Kovalivy Foundation Award 2022, Publishers Forum Best Book Award 2021 ” and others.
In addition to writing, Halyna Kruk is a member of the Ukrainian PEN Club, a candidate of sciences in Ukrainian literature (2001), and a teacher of European and Ukrainian baroque literature at the Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
